I don't have Logic though so I can't test it.
#Apple mainstage as vst pro
I think this might also work in Logic (Final Cut Pro X too?), since both Logic and Mainstage are AU-only and made by Apple.

That's what Mainstage is sending to, and otherwise it won't work.Īdmittedly I'm just a novice at Mainstage right now, but it seems to work without any issues. Make sure that the midi input node you use is the one that says "no device". Sure enough, you can open it as a plugin in Mainstage, and then load your VST instrument or effect plugin in. Are you looking to add a little bit of randomness or just create absolute chaos in your songs Then look no further Check out our list with 15 of the best glitch VST plugins available. Turns out, it ALSO has VST, VST3, and AU plugin versions that come with it. I bought it just to test and see if some of my plugins were working (I had a library corruption problem with LABS for some reason and didn't want to keep reloading Cubase). It's a VST host that uses a node interface to connect instruments to fx to outputs etc. It's actually intended as a way to make any plugin "standalone" without excess capabilities, though it seems to have a lot of options should you want them. Perform live with 100 instrument, effect and MIDI plug-ins, or work with Audio Units plug-ins.

#Apple mainstage as vst mac
After digging around for a while today, I found this guy: Element by Kushview. Apple updates Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro Apple updates GarageBand for iOS to v2.3.9 Apple updates Logic Pro to v10.5 Apple updates Logic Pro, MainStage and GarageBand Apple updates Final Cut Pro to v10.4.4 - third-party workflow extensions Apple updates MainStage to v3.4. MainStage lets you take your Mac to the stage with a full-screen interface optimised for live performance, flexible hardware control, and a massive collection of plug-ins and sounds that are fully compatible with Logic Pro. I tried to find a standalone VST host for MacOS, but amazingly enough, while there are a number for Windows, there's virtually nothing for MacOS (aside from Gig Performer, which is way more than I need and want to spend, and DAWs). I happen to like the Spitfire LABS virtual instrument, but it's VST only, so Mainstage can't use it since it expects AU format plugins only. I recently bought Mainstage to go with my new laptop (16" Macbook Pro, 2.4gHz i9, 32GB memory, 8GB video memory). Using Apple Midi IAC you can create multiple IAC ports. For 29.99 you get the complete Logic sound set (some nice stuff in there) as well as Logics ability to run Rosetta and non Rosetta plug-ins at the same time.

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but for whatever reason I'm not seeing any previous posts about it. Been using Apple MainStage 3 with Dorico 4, sort of like an inexpensive VEPro.
